What is the purpose and function of the Blender Foundation? What is the difference between the Blender Foundation and Institute? What is the History of Blender? Well in this quick video I talk about these questions and have fun while doing so.

  1. 1- The purpose of the fundation is to keep Blender up to date, it was the founding what made Blender an open source 3d package and that will ramain as that.

2-The Institute is in charge of making things with blender, like open movies, dvd workshops and games.
The fundation keeps Blender alive. (money, founding...).

    3. Short story: First Blender was made in a Studio who was Not a Number Nan, it was made thinking in the artist needs, rather that wath a company, so Blender it was growing with the needs of the proyects, like it still doing.
After a couple of years Blender was ofered in the internet as a pay software, and it was small enough to be in a 3 1/2" disk. Blender grew to fast that started to have offices around the world, like in China.
Sadly was to good to last and went to bankrupt.
In order to keep blender alive, the creator of Blender, Ton Roosendal(my hero), started a campaing to free Blender, the money was to pay the company NaN who was holding the code of blender. The goal to make it free was reached in two weeks.

    I don't think i'm 100% accurete in the story, but that's what i recall.
Regards and keep on blending :D
